On June 3rd, 2012 the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts will be holding a fundraiser. This fundraiser will help us at the Flickinger Center, to continue to provide excellent entertainment and service to the entire area. Tee times will start at 1pm.

The tournament is to be held at the Lodge in Cloudcroft, NM. We are actively looking for the following:

• Sponsors
• Golfers
• Volunteers

If you would like to be a sponsor, we are very excited to have you choose to donate to the arts. Premier holes 1, 8, and 9 are priced at $100 dollars. Holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are $50. Once you have sponsored a hole we will need you to provide a business sign to place at the hole you have chosen. Please call 575-437-2202 for more information.

Would you like to be one of the golfers? This will be a 4 person scrambler. The fee to play is only $50 per team member. Pre-payment should be made at the Lodge Golf Course. Please call the golf course at 575-682-2098. Team prizes will be given for 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th. We will also have prizes given out for a variety of competition during the tournament; such as a hair cut, a massage, a new leather wallet and tickets to Flickinger shows, just to name a few. There will also be a “Hole in One” competition with a new set of Ping Irons to the first person to accomplish it at the designated hole.

Just want to give back to the community. To be a volunteer, just give us a call at 575-437-2202.  We are looking for 6 adults to be spotters at 3 of the holes and 1 adult at each of  the “Mulligan” table to sell Mulligans and 1 at the “Chance” table to sell chances for “closest to the pin”, “longest drive”. We are also looking for youth volunteers to help with loading and un-loading golf carts, cleaning clubs, and just assisting with overall service to the participants.

More than anything else, the stage production shows the enduring power of songs written by two gifted songwriters, Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. Just phrases such as “if I only had a brain” or “ding, dong, the witch is dead” put a tune immediately into your head. That’s an amazing accomplishment for Arlen and Harburg. The main pleasure of this show is to lose yourself again in those songs.

Lady of White Sands Ballet – Presented by the Department of Dance, NMSU – Las Cruces. Libretto and Music by JD Droddy of Alamogordo, Choreography by Debra Knapp and members of the Department of Dance, New Mexico State University – Las Cruces, “The Lady of White Sands” is a contemporary ballet, combining classical ballet with more modern dance genres. It is based on a legend from the Indians of Southern New Mexico, called the Legend of Pavla Blanca, the ghost of the Great White Sands.
