The vision of Children’s Music Theater of Alamogordo is to bring art and theater literacy to the young people in our community by giving them the experience of performing live theater, dance, and music onstage. We also strive to enrich their lives by giving them the opportunity to participate in the many varied aspects of theatrical performance (set construction, painting, props, stage make-up, costumes, etc.), giving them a positive creative outlet, teaching them public speaking skills, giving them the opportunity to build lasting friendships, and encouraging them to learn the value of teamwork.
CMT of Alamogordo has done three shows so far: A Child is Born; Narnia the Musical; and Alice in Christmasland. Each of these shows has given dozens of young people a chance to participate in the theater. Whether performing on stage or helping backstage, the children are learning valuable life lessons and making memories that will last forever.
Consider supporting CMT of Alamogordo financially. With arts funding being cut in public and private schools, CMT is an important outlet for the children in our Tularosa Basin communities. Watch this informative video for more information.
